The NES Classic is more or less an off-the-shelf Linux box

That retro console that Nintendo has put out is basically the same kind of hacked together emulator that most enthusiasts have been creating for a while—except this one’s officially licensed of course. A GameSpot reporter pulled one apart to reveal a quad-core Linux board with 256MB of RAM and 512MB of flash storage, à la a Raspberry Pi or similar. Finally, it’s the year of Linux gaming!
