Airfoil connects Macs to Chromecast
I tend to get excited by Rogue Amoeba’s nerdy audio tools like Audio Hijack and Loopback. But the company’s most popular product is the one used by regular people, not audio nerds: the $29 Airfoil, which lets you route audio from your Mac to various external devices via AirPlay and Bluetooth.
Now with Airfoil 5.5, Rogue Amoeba has added support for Google Cast, you can also send Mac audio to a Google Chromecast or any other Cast-compatible device. If you’ve got a Chromecast and always wanted to shoot your iTunes music over to it, now you can.
