Apple posts FAQ about FBI request
As the dispute between Apple and the FBI over security and privacy enters its second week, Cupertino’s posted a FAQ that clarifies certain issues, as well as reiterating its position on the matter:
This is and always has been about our customers. We feel strongly that if we were to do what the government has asked of us – to create a backdoor to our products – not only is it unlawful, but it puts the vast majority of good and law abiding citizens, who rely on iPhone to protect their most personal and important data, at risk.
At this point, with both the FBI and Apple holding tightly to their beliefs, it looks like this is going to end up being a matter decided by the courts–or, ultimately, by legislation.
