Griffin’s BreakSafe USB-C cable
Announced at CES and Available in April for $40, Griffin’s BreakSafe Magnetic USB Type C Cable is a MagSafe-style connector for the new MacBook:
The quick-release magnetic connector (patent-pending) plugs into your laptop’s USB-C port and safely disconnects from the rest of the cable when under stress or strain, like tripping over the power cord.
It’s necessarily a two-part approach, but very clever.
(Griffin also announced a USB-C version of the PowerMate knob, extending the reach of the weirdest Mac input device on the market.)
