The Force is with the official Star Wars app
I take my job as Six Color’s Senior Star Wars Correspondent seriously. Very seriously.
So, look, the official Star Wars app from Disney and Lucasfilm might be a little bit cheesy. But it also might be a little bit awesome.
Exhibit A: A selfie feature where you can put your face on Han Solo’s carbonite-encased wall hanging, or on a Jedi, or a Rebel pilot.
Exhibit B: A GIF gallery with animated images from the original movies, Star Wars Rebels, Episode VII trailers, and some other movies. (What, no Clone Wars? Travesty.) And makes it easy to send those GIFs to unsuspec–er, fellow enthusiasts.
Exhibit C: A soundboard of dialogue clips and sound effects, from Chewie growling to Admiral Ackbar’s famous declaration.
Okay, there’s a lot of wacky stuff in here too–a weather forecast that tries to match you up with a Star Wars planet? a lightsaber mini-game? a countdown clock for The Force Awakens–but overall, it’s a time diversion that’ll probably appeal to the Star Wars superfan in your life.
Really, the only important thing is that Captain Rex can be my profile picture.1
