You can use disinfectant wipes on your iPhone

If you, like me, have been wondering the best way to disinfect a smartphone in these heady times, you may have noted that Apple only suggested using a damp cloth to wipe down your device. However, as CNBC’s Todd Haselton notes, Apple has now updated its support note on cleaning the iPhone, saying you can use disinfectant wipes.

Using a 70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipe or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes, you may gently wipe the hard, nonporous surfaces of your Apple product, such as the display, keyboard, or other exterior surfaces. Don’t use bleach. Avoid getting moisture in any opening, and don’t submerge your Apple product in any cleaning agents. Don’t use on fabric or leather surfaces.

Good news! As some places have pointed out, disinfecting your phone probably isn’t necessary in most cases, but if you need to or it just makes you feel better, have at!
